Useful stuff

I continually get asked about all aspects of training and racing for triathlon. Triathlon for me is a lifestyle. Each day throws up something new to understand learn about or deal with. A common topic is injury and how to deal with it. My best advice is: do not get injured. Have regular physiotherapy and massage regardless of whether you think you need it. Incorporate recovery into your training routine, include ice baths, stretching and core stability into your program.

Another common question is regarding swimming technique and how to improve. Other questions concern time management and how to fit everything in (not very easy and I do it full time!) I also get asked about equipment I use and training tools to help improve speed, stamina and strength.

My aim over these pages is to help you find the answers to those questions. Included below are a few of the books/ dvds I recommend to all athletes regardless of ability to read/ watch to help better understand themselves and training for triathlon. If nothing else get the Lore of Running by Tim Noakes MD. It is a font of knowledge and has a great section on injuries and their treatment which can be applied to all three sports.

I also aim to include a few pieces of equipment I use for both training and racing which I have tried and tested and found to be excellent products including pieces of software I use to produce my marketing material and website. If you have any questions please contact me.
